Hello Everyone!
It's that time of the year when the Major Movie Studios release their summer tent pole blockbusters!   The ones that I'm excited for the most are:  How to train your Dragon 2, X-men: Days of Future Past, Guardians of the Galaxy, Let's Be Cops, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, and Sin City 2.

Expectations will be high, lets hope we don't have a few low performing ones.  The question I always ask myself when going to see a movie is "Is This worth the price of 3-D?"  A few movies were the last few years, but most times the 3-D was added too late to the finished movie, and normal 2-D looks just as good.

Have a Great Summer!

Well it's that time of year again, seriously this year flew by way to fast.  I wish everyone a wonderful month, time spent with love ones, and tons of good food to eat.  I'm hoping to finish a Christmas picture soon, but we'll see.  Here's to good health, family, and to a better New Year!

Today we lost a great writer who had a way with witty dialogue, words so catching that you swore a young person wrote it.  87 year old Elmore J. Leonard Jr. wrote about bounty hunters, con jobs, crime bosses, westerns, and his latest work the FX TV Series 'Justified.'  This man influenced a young video store clerk named Quentin Tarantino who latter pay tribute by making a film called " Jackie Brown," which was about the book "Rum Punch."  I've read about 6 of his novels, I got ahold of three of them while I was serving in the US Navy; 'Get Shorty, Rum Punch, and 3:10 to Yuma.'  Over the years I would rent the movies that Hollywood made from his work, they never felt rich in character like Mr. Leonard so vividly painted with words of betrayal, greed, and the pretty dame who took the money and ran.  I just recently bought the novel  "The Hot Kid," and I want to read the short story "Fire in the Hole," that introduced the character Raylan Givens that I like from the series 'Justified'  My heart goes out to his family.  If you ever get a chance pick up one of his books; I promise you will be caught up in the characters and wondering what will happen next.

Last month I had the pleasure of buying on Itunes for $9.99 a documentary that told a story of where and how some of my favorite rock albums have come from.  Dave Grohl of Nirvana to Foo Fighters made his directorial debut of how a certain sound board in this hole in the wall of a studio produced some of the most legendary albums.  Were talking Fleetwood Mac:Rumors, to Rage against the Machine , Tom Petty, Guns N Roses: Appetite for Destruction, Nirvana: Both Bleach & Nevermind, The Cars, and NIN etc....  I have always been jealous that I was never born to create music. I love music! It has helped me through some tough times, and has helped me celebrate life.  Sound City just Rocked, (bad pun) but to watch these music legends just rock out like Dave Grohl, Trent Reznor, Sir Paul McCartney, Corey Taylor and many more.  A soundtrack from that movie came out yesterday called "Sound City: Real to Reel," has an amazing song with Corey Taylor called " From Can to Can't."  I watched it again the other night, and got so fired up; I broke out my paints and just went crazy with some new art.  Inspiration and Music just go hand to hand, and this movie was just what I needed!  Do yourself a favor rent or buy this movie!!!!!!

Finally 4 years, and MgM almost filed for bankruptcy; James Bond 23rd film finally saw the light of day on Firday Nov 9, 2012.  My favorite Bonds have been Sean Connery, Pierce Brosnan, and the last three staring Daniel Graig.  In SkyFall, first time ever in Bond history not to use an original story from the creator Ian Fleming.  I feel that if you take a great director like Sam Mendes (American Beauty), and spend about two years creating and plotting you will get a Epic movie that the fans will truly enjoy.  From last weekends total of 436 million and really high praise from movie critics, this movie did just that!  In this film Bond is tested to see how loyal he is to his majestry's secret service, when they leave him to die?  Javier Bardem played a creepy, twisted ex-agent named Silva, and Bonds past sheds some new light.  I was really pleased with the opening credits because a good Bond song makes all the difference, and Adele proved just that.   Recently; Daniel Graig signed another two Bond movies before he passes the torch to someone else.
